I Will Be Here

I really wish there were more producers of dance music that didn’t have the unfailing habit of turning great songs to shit. Here’s a flow chart of what I think is going on here:

Attention given to some release. ——> Popular DJ/Producer expected to remix it yielding two possibilities. —1—> Said DJ/Producer turns a beautiful melody into a lifeless bouncing ball of noise completely disregarding the identity of the original piece. —2—> Said DJ/Producer lures you in with a little bit of the original’s identity, then quickly abandons it, reverting to possibility one.

PRIME example. Tiesto & Sneaky Sound System (btw I want to shoot whoever decided it would be a good idea for SSS to collaborate with the Dutch dog molester himself. See video below.) Regardless, whoever wrote “I Will Be Here” has a pretty solid hit on their hands, and thankfully Mr. Wolfgang Gartner stepped in for Deadmau5 and salvaged its soul.

Thanks to former BT board member solarplexus7 for this work of art.

Here’s Wolfgang Gartner’s radio mix of “I Will Be Here.” If you want to hear the others, you’re gonna have to do it yourself. The Benassi one is alright, but this one is much more my taste.
